Broncos Dominate on First Day of Boise State Beach Classic

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State Beach Volleyball cruised to a pair of 5-0 victories on the first day of the Boise State Classic. The Broncos (11-11, 2-1 Big 12) defeated both Oregon and Santa Clara on Friday.Â
Boise State opened the day with a matchup against the Ducks (12-11). Addison Moss and Elli Wolthuis put the Broncos on the board first with a straight-set victory from court four. Moments later, Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian earned a win of their own to give Boise State a 2-0 advantage.
Allyson Alden and Serena van der Made secured the dual for the Blue and Orange, winning 21-14, 21-19 from the top court. Summer McCann and Lily Patock came back from a first-set defeat to snag a win on court three, while Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden pulled off a thrilling three-set victory to secure the Boise State sweep.
Allen and Demirjian put together their most dominant performance of the season against Santa Clara, winning 21-5, 21-6 from the No. 2 position to give the Blue and Orange a point. Moss and Wolthuis recorded another straight-set victory from court four to give Boise State a 2-0 lead.
After claiming the first set 24-22, Alden and van der Made won the second set handily to clinch the victory. Anderson and Wolden won moments later on court three, followed by Charlee Ellena and Luna Ingaramo on court five to complete the sweep.
