Senior golfer finished second in PGA TOUR Americas Qualifying School

SAN JACINTO, Calif. — Competing in the 2026 PGA TOUR Americas Qualifying School, Cole Rueck shot a 275 (-13) and earned full membership for the upcoming season after finishing the competition in a tie for second place.

Contested at five sites across four states (Alabama, California, Florida and Texas) during March and early April, the top eight finishers at each site earn full membership for the 2026 PGA TOUR Americas season. Consisting of 15 events, the schedule begins later this month.

Played at Soboba Springs, a par-72, 7,339-yard course in San Jacinto, California, Rueck shot under par in all four rounds. He fired a 70, 69 and 67, respectively, in the first three, before carding a 69 on Friday.

Finishing the four-day, 72-hole event at 13-under, Rueck competed against 150-plus golfers. He is the only amateur in the field to earn full exemption for the 2026 season.

The Corvallis, Oregon native capped the tournament three strokes behind Christian Banke (Anthem, Arizona), who won the event outright at 16-under. Tying with Jordan Lee (Auburn, Washington) and Jonny Baxter (Pleasanton, California), Rueck birdied 18 times and shot a combined nine-under on the front nine, tying for the best mark amongst the field.

Also competing was Boise State senior and British Columbia native, Gavyn Knight, who tied for 51st. He carded a 285 (-3) and shot under par in two of the four rounds.

Rueck's full exemption adds to an already impressive senior campaign. This season, he has captured two individual championships and six top-10 finishes in the Broncos' nine team tournaments.

As a collective, Boise State returns to action on Monday in the UC Santa Barbara Intercollegiate. The 54-hole event, which the Broncos won a year ago, spans two days (April 6-7) and takes place at Sandpiper Golf Club in Santa Barbara, California.
